Mission

The Ithaca Food Pantry is our most public on-going mission.

THE ITHACA FOOD PANTRY

The food pantry is sponsored by the Ithaca Ministerial Association, housed at our church, and administered by a committee made up of people from the community, but primarily people from our church.  The Food Pantry serves residents of Gratiot County who live south of Tyler Rd.  People will be served 6 times a year unless there are extraordinary circumstances requiring more assistance.  The Pantry is a member of the Gratiot County Hunger Network and is committed to that organization at the “involved” level.  Donations of food and money come from schools, churches, businesses, and individuals throughout our community. The food pantry space in the church is currently being remodeled thanks to a grant from the Gratiot Community Foundation.

CROP HUNGER WALK

The congregation actively participates in the Gratiot/Alma Area Crop Walk.  A portion of the funds raised are designated to the Ithaca Food Pantry.

HONDURAS DENTAL MISSION

This program is planned and sponsored by an elder in the congregation and carried out through his contacts in Honduras, involving many people in the community in an annual trip to meet the dental needs of children and adults in Honduras.  The congregation actively supports this program.
